Weak or discharged 12V battery (self-start clicks or is slow)
Cold-start fuelling: choke not used (carburettor) or a weak battery in cold weather
Fouled or worn spark plug
Low fuel, fuel tap off or blocked fuel filter

Check the kill switch is ON, the side-stand is up and you are pulling the brake/clutch lever
Press the horn: a weak horn means a weak battery
Try a kick start (or a push start on a geared bike)
Use the choke for 30 seconds on carburettor bikes in cold weather
